The Cardboardesign Rocket combines the best in fun, creative exploration, active role-play, innovative educational opportunities, green design, and sustainable manufacturing practices. The eco-friendly Rocket, made in the USA, of rugged 100% recycled cardboard/fiber, tested free of chemical toxins and bleaches (white cardboard is bleached—a global toxic polluter). Creativity is part of the fun. The surface is a blank palette for children of any age. No adult pre-stamped colors or images allowed. Children create their own colors and designs inside and out with paints, crayons, markers, stickers, and so on. Assembly is simple; no tools or adhesives needed. The pieces fit together like a puzzle so children preschool age and up can participate in the building process. At journey’s end, the Rocket can go back in the box to store in a closet or under the bed. The Rocket is packaged in a specially designed reusable flat cardboard box for easy transport and storage (also toxin and bleach free). This innovative durable packaging means no wasteful box-within-a-box shipping. Children may use the Rocket simply as their own private cubby; where the child is the captain and the adult is the visitor. The Rocket also presents a wonderful opportunity for a parent or teacher to talk about outer space, the moon landing, the stars, and the planets. Imaginative space travel is all part of a busy day. Dimensions: 28" W x 28" D x 67" H.
How Cardboardesign is a Green Company
Cardboardesign manufactures in the USA eco-friendly children’s playthings, furniture, and home décor items. It uses post-consumer recycled cardboard/fiber, and produces Green exhibits using custom-designed recycled cardboard elements. Cardboardesign’s mission is to bring creative and joyful designs into the home, school, and workplace using recycled cardboard and a commitment to sustainable business practices. Cardboardesign inspires a re-imagining of cardboard, from waste product to innovative medium, and advocates the use of toxin-free recycled fiber, durable and recyclable designs, and exceptional quality. The company creates design-intensive and high quality products that are part of an eco-friendly loop: recycled and recyclable. The company promotes elevating our social conscience (and consciousness) of paper waste. Every person who recycles garbage participates in change. Next time those old paper goods could be furniture in a homeless shelter, a Rocket at a child’s birthday party, or a centerpiece in a Fifth Avenue drawing room. Cardboardesign products were used in a green home designed for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, in 2008, and will appear on another episode during Fall 2009. Martha Stewart highlighted Cardboardesign Liquid Cardboard on a television program about green decorating ideas for the holidays. The Sundance Channel will feature Cardboardesign in an episode of "Big Ideas for a Small Planet" on August 11, 2009. For the Guggenheim Museum Gala tribute to architect Frank Gehry, Cardboardesign converted a warehouse with floor to ceiling custom-designed recycled cardboard elements (including tables and lamps) attended by over 500 people. For the American Museum of Natural History’s exhibit "Climate Change," Cardboardesign created an opening night installation for select museum patrons. Park Avenue Bank in New York City chose the company to design a green conference room including wall coverings and furniture made of recycled cardboard.
