Each 10" Emotes plush toy represents a different emotion—from Bubba (the happy) and Cant (the frustrated) to Mixy (the confused) and Boom (the angry). By providing children with a means to externalize and interact with cuddly symbols of their emotions, children are able to better understand and express their feelings in an interactive and playful way. Developed by a mother and a psychotherapist, the Emotes series aims to help children boost their emotional vocabulary and manage their feelings…while having fun along the way!

The Emotes Mission: The goal of the Emotes project is to help children increase their emotional intelligence and boost their emotional vocabulary—the ability to put feelings into words. Through the Emotes books, comics, and toys, as well as interactive web content, children are able to explore their emotions in an engaging and playful way. Each Emotes character represents a different emotion, and therefore becomes a mirror for a child’s own emotions. In this way, children are able to externalize and literally interact with their emotions while having fun along the way. Through play, children learn about themselves, and discover how to express and channel their emotions in healthy and constructive ways. Children face many challenges as they grow up in an increasingly complex world. Issues such as peer pressure, bullying and prejudice can leave a child feeling alone and insecure. Therefore, at the core of the Emotes message is love—love for others and love for the self. Love is an extremely powerful emotion. It provides encouragement and support, even when the world seems hopeless and disappointing. The Emotes teach unconditional love and emphasize the importance of expressing and accepting this important emotion. They model forgiveness and acceptance despite differences we might share with others, and help us to better understand confusing feelings such as jealousy and fear when faced with conflict. Everyone deserves love. The Emotes serve as reminders of this during the emotional challenges of childhood and beyond.
